Welcome to January! Today was miserable and cold, so the project in my 365 Crochet book seemed to be perfect. A baby blanket! I was kinda surprised to find that I don’t have any baby yarn in my stash. So … I chose something else.
A while ago, my sister-from-another-mister and her mum gifted me with some yarn. I pulled out these skeins and went to work. Just to let you know exactly HOW old this stuff is, the price tag on it does really say $1.67. And it’s on a Woodward’s price label!

See how old this is? I’m rather amused.
However.
Not being a mother to human children, even I know this would not make a good baby blanket. Unless I read the pattern wrong, there are too many holes for itty bitty fingers to get caught.
Yet another however.
This makes a wonderful dolly blanket – or in our case a kitty blanket.

The challenge I mentioned in the title is my desperate attempt to actually cull the yarn I have, and to not purchase any yarn unless it’s for a commission – which are not open at this time (grin). With the yarn I have, and the season we are in, I’m making myself yet another attempt at an ugly blanket. Grabbing yarn as what I’m using is done, without looking, or getting Himself to choose the skein.
I’ve started it with 300 chains, and am doing the Feather Stitch. It’s a wonderful yarn eater, and nice and thick. Hopefully, this will keep me warm, as during winter, I am convinced I will never be warm again. Once I get more into the blanket, and the pattern is more prevalent in it.
But, that’s it for me tonight. Rest well, stay safe, and have a great evening.
