A little while ago now, I finally picked up a new spinning wheel. Not new to me, new. Like new new. I’m so excited! I’ve been saving for this wee gem for a while, and now that I have her, I will be working hard on learning how to move from drop spinning, to wheel.
In that vein, I’ve been in talks with my partner about what blanket I should knit or crochet for our bed. This, surprisingly, was easier than anticipated. I showed a farmhouse style crochet blanket and they said they loved it … and once we settled on colours, that’s when the bombshell was dropped.
They want me to spin and dye the wool for this blanket.
YIKES!
But, it can and will be done. I’m nothing if not stubborn. So a bargain was struck. This will not happen until my current WIPs are finished. In no particular order, they are:Amigurumi Zebra and Panda for J. at work
Baby Yoda for JM at work
Blanket for Queen Helena (in the SCA)
My cardigan from Happily Hooked Magazine
Scrapghan for car and truck
Thank you blankets for M. A. and C.
Most of these are started, and one is almost done. I have added another blanket for my Mum as she and Dad just purchased (omg finally) a trailer for them to take off and enjoy the world.
This blanket is going to be made similar to the Couch Blanket from the old show Rosanne. For years, even before I picked up the hook for the first time, I loved that blanket. So, I’m making it for Mum (and maybe one for me…I do have a hell of a lot of scrap yarn).

It’s an easy pattern, thankfully, as it’s portable, and easy for me to take with me when I go places. I’ve finally found a system that works for me, when it comes to travelling with my crochet.
Also in Wyvern Hold Studio news, we’ve added a Cricut to our plethora of crafts. Today, after finishing up setting the studio to rights, I made my first project … well almost. It’s not quite done, as I still need to assemble it, and I don’t have a glue stick – of all things. But tomorrow I will post my very first Cricut project. I am loving it thus far! ❤
So onward and forward …. let’s see what we can get into!
